Access Control Analysis

US 60 is a full general access facility as described above. Local driveway access points and local streets are directly adjacent to the US 60 EB and WB lanes. Legal driveway access points should be controlled with authorized driveway permits.

Left-Turn and Right-Turn deceleration lanes for the intersections along the corridor do not meet the turning volume requirements listed above in (9) and (10) for the varying speed conditions except for 2019 existing volumes at US 60/Summit (NM 55) EB Left-turn which indicates 40 vph in the PM Peak Hour. Therefore, deceleration or acceleration lanes are not warranted for existing or 2040 horizon conditions except for US 60 EB Left-Turn.
